La
Herradura
is a small fishing village retaining the charm of old Andalusia,
and as yet has not become over commercialised as with else
of the Mediterranean, The name La Herradura refers to the
shape of the bay and means “The Horseshoe”,
From the Casita La Herradura is approx. 5 minutes drive,
and is situated in the hills within the grounds of a large
villa overlooking the bay. The Casita is entirely separate
and self contained, with its own grounds, entrance and large
pool. The Casita cannot be seen from the main house.
La Herradura offers tranquillity, and beautiful views, with
a large variety of restaurants to choose from, together
with numerous chiringuitos on the beach. La Herradura is
renowned for it’s excellent diving and paragliding,
together with a large range of activities, wonderful walking,
rock climbing, horse riding, 4X4 tours etc. Easy access
to Nerja, Almunecar, (15 minutes drive) for a range of night
clubs and shopping: Malaga and the airport is less than
1 hour drive, Granada an hour and a half drive, which also
has its own airport and the wonderful city including the
magical Alhambra, with skiing in the Sierra Nevada November
to March. Day trips to Gibraltar, with 45 minutes hovercraft
journey from Morocco.
Honey moons can be specially catered for.
